Kill Mold with Ultra Violet Light
Your indoor air quality is one of the most important, and most overlooked, factors in keeping your family safe and comfortable at home.
This is especially true this time of the year, with the explosion of trees and flowers… and pollen. On top of that, higher humidity and heat will contribute to the growth of mold and bacteria inside your HVAC system. But you can protect against these intrusive microorganisms with UV light.
UV lights work by either killing bacteria and mold outright, or by disrupting their DNA. Since the lifespan of these organisms are so short, this effectively eliminates them. The lights are silent, safe and efficient, and can be used by a technician to sweep the rooms of your home.
However, you may want to think about getting a UV light setup installed next to your indoor air coil. Placing the lights there will prevent the growth of mold and bacteria on the coil itself, and treat your air before it actually gets inside your home. This process is silent and very, very effective, and the lights will last for some time before needing to be replaced.
You should also consider some other steps, in addition to UV light, to improve your indoor air quality. Remember to change your air filters regularly, and get your duct system serviced to ensure there aren’t tears or gaps that could be facilitating the introduction of dust and untreated air into your home. Inspect and repair the seals around your windows and doors, and consider air purifiers if you’re still suffering ill effects.
